SAMET

SAMET - stands for Italian Società Azionaria Metallurgica (Metallurgical Company Equity) - was an Italian manufacturer of household appliances.
History
It was founded in 1955 in Romano d'Ezzelino by the Aurelio Agnesina, and began with the production of stainless steel sinks and ovens for kitchens. The company took immediate development, with foreign exports and growth in sales, employees and productivity during the sixties.
Between 1977 and 1978 SAMET was hit by a crisis that prompted her to reduce the number of employees from 450 to just over 200 and later was placed in receivership.
In 1986 the company was taken over and absorbed by El.Fi., the holding of the brothers Luigi and Gianfranco Nocivelli, an operation that allowed the financial group of Verolanuova (BS) entry into the industry's "hot."
After the failure of the Group Nocivelli in 2001, which also caused the closure of the plant at Romano, its brand passed first to the Israeli ElcoBrandt and further to the Spanish Fagor Electrodomésticos
