Saleen S281 Sedan

</noinclude>
The Saleen S281 Sedan was a tuned package exclusively for the Ford Crown Victoria. Each car fitted with the package had a Police Interceptor grille and 500 horsepower out of a 4.6-liter supercharged Modular V8 engine.
History
Steve Saleen was into Mustangs and supercharging them. Ford forced Saleen to modify Ford's flagship sedan by 2004 to compete with the Chrysler 300C SRT8 and other sedans in the $40,000-$50,000 group. Saleen's goal was to add a Roots-type Saleen supercharger into and make at least 450 horsepower out of a 4.6-liter Modular V8 engine. Saleen claimed that it will have a 0-60 time of under 5 seconds and a quarter mile time of under 14 seconds at over 105 mph. To avoid≥ confusion with the S281 Mustang, Saleen was forced to mention Sedan as in Saleen S281 Sedan. The S281 Sedan could even leave cars that were nearly twice the price, such as the Cadillac STS-V and the Mercedes-Benz E 55 AMG. It was one of the fastest 4-door sedans in the $40,000-$50,000 group.
Package pricing
The package cost $17,815 in 2004 ($21,969.98 today).
Performance
There was no official test for any cars equipped with the S281 Sedan package. But according to some online video that was uploaded in December 2005, it was showing both a red 2006 Crown Victoria with the package and a silver 2006 BMW M5 (both stock and equipped with manuals) at the dragstrip.
The Crown Victoria had a 0-60 mph test time of 4.2 seconds and a quarter mile time of 12.80 seconds at 117.21 mph (10.76 at 125.84 on 9" drag slicks). The M5 in the same test had a 0-60 time of 4.4 seconds and a quarter mile time of 12.88 seconds at 113.00 mph.
Unfortunately, due to copyright infringement, the video was removed by the staff of YouTube.
Performance Package was given to only around 3 cars (a black 2006, a black 2005, and an aqua 1993), and was offered optionally for an extra $6,000. It removes the 170 mph speed limiter and reduces the car's weight by 250 pounds.
Transmission
Unknown, but the 6-speed manual was offered optionally.
Gear ratios: 2.60 for 1st gear, 1.56 for 2nd, 1.00 for 3rd, 0.81 for 4th, 0.67 for 5th, 0.5 for 6th; 2.14 reverse gear; 3.73 rear axle
Awards
* The Saleen P71 appeared in Ford Carlisle 2013 and did an awesome burnout.
