Sade Serena is an American R&B-pop singer-songwriter.
Life and music career
Early Years
Sade Serena Matthews was born in Miami Florida to Jamaican immigrant parents. Took her first steps in music at the tender age of 12, recording a demo named "Lo Tienes (You Got What I Want)” with a family friend named Rhovan, after receiving much encouragement to sing for years. The song was never officially released as a single, but it granted to Sade Serena invaluable recording experience. At the age of 14, Sade signed up for choral classes starting out as a soprano, although this has been difficult for her has enabled her to improve her singing skills. By age 17, Sade Serena was earning her stripes as a background singer, performing in renowned Miami music venues like the House of Blues and the American Airlines Arena. Maturing over the years into a seasoned singer and songwriter, Sade Serena makes music that flows from her soul. Her lyrics showcase her exuberance, intelligence and charm, as she shares a relatable narrative of pursuing her dreams, along with her everyday life experiences. During her teenage years, during she sang with Miami based music group, she toured with Pretty Ricky for almost a year, and performet at Late Night Special and the Scream V.
Musical Styling
Sade Serena music is a fusion between pop and R&B, with some reggae and hip hop. Her main influence is her father who was himself an aspiring artist and other musical luminaries such Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, Gwen Stefani, Beyoncé and Lady Gaga, all of whom captured the ears of this auspicious artist and contribute to her melodious pop sound. Her sultry swag and powerful voice bring frequent comparisons to Rihanna.
2013:Debut with Uprize Music LLC
In 2012 Sade Serena began her career as a recording artist, signing with the independent label Uprize Music LLC. Thanks to Uprize Music, Sade emerges with her first single "Tonight" a sizzling pop-dance offering that debuted worldwide in February 2013, from Island Def Jam Digital Distribution, single who reached the number 4 on Billboard Hot Single Sales. In the same year she released other two singles "One Life to Live" distributed via Island Def Jam Digital Distribution. "Renegade" distributed via Universal Digital Distribution.
2014: Germination EP
In April 15, 2014, Sade Serena released her debut EP "Germination" under her label Uprize Music LLC. The EP, is a mix of various music genre as R&B, pop, dance, hip hop, reggae and soul, she credits the sound to the instant chemistry with producer Jon FX, producer who worked with artist such Akon, Sean Paul and Spragga Benz. Sade Serena presented her EP during her performance at BET Music Matters. The EP debuted at the number 2 of Billboard Heatseekers South Atlantic and number 42 on Billboard HeatSeekers Album.
