Rylan Yee

Rylan "Big Sexy" Yee, of Waipahu, HI, is best known for playing bass in the ska/rock/reggae band Pimpbot, for which he also provides backing vocals. In addition, he is a guitarist in the bands Lovechile and Dr. Zaius. He is also trained in classical piano.


Pimpbot
A member of the band from its early years, Rylan joined as a keyboardist, but took over bass upon the leaving of the bands former bassist. He contributed to both of the band's full length albums; "Vertical Lobster" (2004, self-released) and "Admit One" (2008, Pass Out records), in addition to many of the band's singles including Careless Whisper and Thanks for the Eggs, which were nominated for Hawaii Music Awards in 2006 and 2008 respectively. Rylan participated in each of the band's four tours, three of which covered the Western U.S. and most recently, the "Admit One" Canadian Tour, which covered several cities including Winnipeg, Calgary, Edmonton, and Vancouver. He also plays several shows monthly with the band in and around Honolulu.

Bass
Rylan plays a Fender Aerodyne Jazz Bass made and exclusively sold in Japan, currently valued valued at around $800.


Education
Rylan received a BA in communication from the University of Hawaii at Manoa and graduated from Waipahu High School.
