Russell Warne

Russell Thomas Warne is an American academic and quantitative psychologist. He is currently an associate professor of psychology at Utah Valley University.
Education
Warne earned his B.A. in Psychology at Brigham Young University, and Ph.D. in Educational Psychology at Texas A&M University. His dissertation was titled, "Psychometric Impacts of Above-Level Testing".
Career
Warne has taught at Utah Valley University since 2011 and currently serves there as an associate professor of psychology.
Currently, Warne serves on the editorial boards of , the Journal of School Psychology, and Gifted Child Quarterly. His coauthored paper "What Do Undergraduates Learn About Human Intelligence? An Analysis of Introductory Psychology Textbooks" was included in the ten most downloaded American Psychological Association journal articles for 2018.
Warne was an associate editor for the Journal for the Education of the Gifted and on the editorial board of the Journal of Psychoeducational Assessment until June 2021.
His first book, Statistics for the Social Sciences: A General Linear Model Approach, was published in 2017 by Cambridge University Press. His second book, In the Know: Debunking 35 Myths about Human Intelligence, was published in October 2020, also by Cambridge University Press. His book asserts that intelligence can be easily, reliably, and accurately be quantified with intelligence tests across cultures, that it is significantly influenced by genetic factors, and that it is significantly predictive of social outcomes.
