Rugao Dinghui Temple

Rugao Dinghui Temple is also called Dinghui Chansi built in 591, in Sui Dynasty. It is a uique and magnificent temple facing to the north and having a long history of one thousand year. According to a record written by a monk named Daoxuan in Tang Dynasty, Jinwang Yangguang who later was Suiyang Emperor set up an appointment combining all monks from all over the country. In the time, the inaugurator of Chinese Tiantai, Zhijie went by Rugao when he came to Yangzhou. He observed the location of Rugao and finally determined to construct a new temple. Therefore, the Dinghui Temple came to being existence.
