Daniel José Marcelo Ruben Silvio Lino Mikel Gouveia, known simply as Ruben Silvio Lino Gouveia, (born 25 June 1988 in Hemsby, Norfolk) is an English-born Portuguese semi-professional footballer currently playing as a striker for Halesowen Town F.C.. Life So Far Ruben was born in the town of Hemsby, Norfolk to Giovanella Joeano, a Portugese emigrant from the municipality of Aveiro and Marcelina Norberta, an Argentinian. He went to school in nearby Great Yarmouth and set up a landscape gardening business with his father at the age of 15. A year later, he met his wife, Joãonina, whilst holidaying in Portugal. Their first child, Láyla, was born when Ruben was just 18. Their second child, Robson Souza, was born when Ruben was 20. He was discovered at school by scouts from first division side Middlesbrough F.C. but failed to make the grade, being released a few months after meeting Joãonina. His family left Hemsby and moved to Halesowen when Ruben was 19. Here, he had a trial with local non-league club Halesowen Town F.C. and was an immediate hit, scoring 25 times in just 6 games. He was signed just two weeks after joining the club and now plays semi-professionally for them, his full time job being the gardening business he set up with his father back in Hemsby. Today, he lives around the corner from his parents in Halesowen and has been comfortably forging a career for himself at Halesowen Town F.C., currently having netted 12 times in 14 games this season.
