Roy Harris is the Founder of various philanthropic organisations, founded over the last 18 years. 1. Roy entered full time ministry as an ordained pastor with the Rhema Family of Churches in 1991. 2. He has founded many benevolent organisations which lead him and his wife Matilda to receive the prestigious Rotary Award for Outstanding Service to the Community in 2003. 3. Roy’s passion for the underprivileged and emotionally scarred and hurting people, combined with his love for business, real estate and new challenges, motivated him to become the visionary and founder of the following over the last 18 years: 3.1. Rhema Cape Town North Church (Senior Pastor), with three assistant pastors. 3.2. Trustee and CEO of Kingdom Ministries Trust. 3.3. Community Mental Health & Psychiatry, currently providing 24 hour care to more than 300 long-term psychiatric and mentally challenged children and adults, situated at various Mental Hospitals and in the community. Services are rendered within the framework of Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR) principles as internationally accepted and endorsed. 3.4. A Human Resources Department with Medical and Administrative staff of more than 85 employees. 3.5. Community Mental Health Academy, which provides training to more than 40 Psychiatric care-givers each year. 3.6. Help Your Neighbour Consultancy, a Fundraising Agency which endeavours to aquire the necessary funding needed to finance these and other ventures. 3.7. A Mental Health Clinic managed by three Professional Nursing sisters and support staff. 3.8. Community Diners, providing catering to various institutions, homes and projects. 3.9. KMT Property Development, which includes a property portfolio as well as the newly completed CAB Conference Centre and CAB Restaurant, including an Internet Café, a Computer Training Centre and more, aimed at capacity building in communities, empowering people and assisting individuals to find their purpose and passion in life, by offering various training courses, life coaching and more. 3.10. South African Institute for Life Coach Training (SAILCT) where life coaches are trained. SAILCT is an autonomous entity under the mentorship of Dr. Pat Williams, Founder of , Florida USA. 4. Roy has been instrumental in the intervention of, and preventing the closure of several institutions. He and his team are also contracted on an ad hoc basis as consultants by the Department of Health. 5. He gained extensive experience in Restorative Justice, Parole Board procedures and counselling during his 3½ years pro deo work at Goodwood Prison, Cape Town. 6. Roy has served on many Boards, of which one was as Chairperson for the National and Nutritional Social Development Program (NNSDP) of the Department of Health where he represented the Western Cape Province on National level in 1995. 7. Roy was also the co-Founder of SARFAT Projects in the late 1990’s together with Mr. Pierre Uys, previous Provincial Minister of Health. 8. He is a member of the World Association for Psychosocial Rehabilitation (WAPR), and a member of various national and international associations, including a member of the US Association for Psychosocial Rehabilitation (USPRA). 9. Roy has travelled extensively abroad to equip himself in Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR) and studying various models of Community Integration of psychiatric patients in countries like the USA, Europe and Ukraine. 10. He is a renowned motivational speaker with more than 17 years experience which includes schools, clubs, churches and corporate institutions. He was also invited to Groningen University (Netherlands) in 2005 as a speaker on Psychosocial Rehabilitation in South Africa. 11. His philosophy is that each person, irrespective of their past or current constraints, must be encouraged and Coached to discover their purpose and passion, living and enjoying a fulfilled life, contributing to the upliftment of mankind and society. 12. Roy is married with 3 children and resides in Cape Town, South Africa and Florida, USA (ex vicis ut vicis).
