The Roundtable Institute and Network (Roundtable) is a privately funded public policy think tank in Hong Kong, established in 2004. According to the organization, they are aiming at "creating a neutral, nonpartisan Think Tank and Network in HK, formulating and promoting public policies based on the extensive research and principles of pluralism, rationalism and individual freedom. Roundtable is committed to be a vanguard in implementing and actualizing a fundamental paradigm shift in the HK." They stress much on diversity and multi-polarity. Their members include scholars, professionals, social workers, journalists, artists, district councilors, civil servants, members from various party and activists. Roundtable has emerged as one of the leading advocates of policy to the administration. Of eight undersecretaries and nine political assistants appointed in May of 2008 as part of the Tsang administration's plan to "groom political talents," some of them were identified as having close ties with Roundtable. The Political Assistant to the Secretary for Food and Health, Mr Paul Chan Chi-yuen; was a founding member and Chief Campaigner at Roundtable. The Political Assistant to the Secretary for Home Affairs, Ms Zandra Mok Yee Tuen, was a founding member, too.
