Rostam: Tales from the Shahnameh
|
Rostam: Tales From The Shahnameh was founded by Bruce Bahmani, Cameron Douraghy and Jamie Douraghy in 2003, and is mostly noted for its Rostam comic book series. These books are published by the independent publisher Hyperwerks. In keeping with the American Comic Book tradition of blending rich folklore from the melting pot of world cultures, with rich illustrations and storytelling, "Rostam: Tales from the Shahnameh" launched the world’s first modern adaptation of Shahnameh (Shaname) stories into this genre. The Shahnameh was a source of inspiration for both J.R.R. Tolkien (Lord of the Rings) and C.S. Lewis (Chronicles of Narnia). Soon after it's launch, the "Rostam: Tales from the Shahnameh" Comic Books adapted from Ferdowsi’s immortal epic, received international recognition by winning a Golden Lioness Award from WAALM (World Academy of Arts Media & Literature) in Budapest, Hungary (2006).
