Ron Paul Online Rally and Photo Mosaic

The Ron Paul Online Rally and Photo Mosaic is a political website containing a massive photo mosaic composed of the faces of Ron Paul supporters. The website was launched on July 21st, 2007 as an independent grassroots effort to demonstrate public support for Paul's 2008 presidential campaign. To date, the mosaic has grown to 2,200 photos and spawned new grassroots promotion projects, despite having no direct affiliation with, or support from, the Ron Paul Campaign.

Features
* Worldwide Mosaic. The homepage features a single square photo mosaic which grows dynamically as each person uploads their photo. Hovering the mouse over each face in the mosaic displays a message of support from that person for Dr. Paul, as well as the person's state, political party, and other optional information.

* State Mosaics Additional mosaics exist for each U.S. state. These are of course much smaller than the worldwide mosaic.

* Source Photos. All source photos from the Ron Paul Online Rally and Photo Mosaic are available for free download. They are licensed for anyone to use in a manner that helps promote or support Ron Paul's campaign.

Ron Paul Mosaic

A contributor from the Ron Paul Forums combined the source photos with an image of Ron Paul to create a mosaic photo of Dr. Paul composed of his supporters. He then started a separate website, , to showcase this image, and others that soon followed it.

In the week prior to the Iowa Republican Straw Poll, a group of grassroots activists used one of these images to create a full page newspaper advertisement in support of Dr. Paul. They superimposed one of these images above an image of the U.S. Constitution and added pro Ron Paul messages below. The advertisement was envisioned, created, funded, and printed within just a few days, without the official Ron Paul campaign even knowing about it.

Other Uses
Mosaic images built from the original source photos have appeared on T-Shirts, on fliers and posters, and in a television advertisement featuring voices from several people in a continuous narration.
