Ron Greer (born 1957) is a Seattle based photographer and painter. He was born in Tacoma, Washington, USA. He is a graduate of Brooks Institute of Photography, Santa Barbara, California and The Evergreen State College, Olympia, Washington. He is well known for his "in your face" black and white street photography, created with wide angle lenses at a very close distance, and his Vincent Van Gogh-inspired oil paintings. His work can be viewed at his web site, and is available for sale from him studio/gallery, Studio Boina, in the Ballard district of Seattle. He also accepts commercial projects, including architectural and environmental portraits. Most street photographers use 35 mm cameras, such as the Leica M4/M6; Greer uses medium format film cameras for his street photography projects, including the: Plaubel Makina W67, Hasselblad 500cm, but for several years how he has standarized his process with a Mamiya 6 and 50mm lens. |
