Rod Taylor (born October 26, 1994) is an American football guard who is a free agent. He played college football at Ole Miss, where he started every game at right tackle in 2017. Taylor was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals in the seventh round with the 252nd overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. Professional career Cincinnati Bengals Taylor was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals in the seventh round, 252nd overall, of the 2018 NFL Draft. On the first day of training camp on July 27, 2018, Taylor was carted off the field with an apparent knee injury. The next day, it was revealed that Taylor tore his ACL, prematurely ending his rookie season. On June 10, 2019, Taylor was waived by the Bengals. He was suspended for the first four games of the 2019 NFL season on September 7, 2019. He was reinstated from suspension by the NFL on October 1, 2019, but was suspended an additional 10 weeks on October 16, 2019. He was reinstated from suspension again on December 24, 2019. He was suspended indefinitely on December 30, 2019. Team 9 Taylor was signed to the XFL's practice squad team, referred to as Team 9, on January 30, 2020. He had his contract terminated when the league suspended operations on April 10, 2020.
