Rocky stroup

Rocky Daniel Stroup (January 18, 1985 – Still Living), commonly known as Rock, also nicknamed by the many people as The snowman gangster or big rock, was a boss of a small street gang by the name of Short North Folk, and is gang related to Keyco Russell who now works with diamond one of the Five Largest street gangs in Columbus, Ohio. Stroup became widely known for his outspoken personality and flamboyant style that made him the poster child for young thugs in the area, an image that persists in schools today.


Early life

Rocky Daniel Stroup. was born January 18, 1985 to Charles Daniel Croun. and Keysa Lynn Stroup. He was the first child of four, Charles Daniel Croun. was born in Ohio to Penny Croun, an immigrant from the Gauteng section of South Africa. He and his wife struggled to make ends meet and raised their children in a low-income section of the Columbus, Ohio. When Stroup was twelve, his family moved to The Short North, Columbus, Ohio a very tough and dangerous neighborhood. As a young boy, Storup had a quick temper and despised those who were more fortunate financially, and he aspired to be one of the thugs he always saw walking around the neighborhood. Watching over his sisters Jessica, Doresta and Katie he became part of a local street gang that ran errands for the local drug dealers. Stroup focused more on his street education and less on his formal one. He was constantly absent from school and when he was there he was labeled the class bully. He was such a routine discipline problem that the school showed very little interest in his truancy. When Stroup was sixteen he quit school for good and joined the new age Short North Posse, a local teenage gang that stole automobiles, fenced stolen goods, and rolled drunks. It was at this moment in his life where he teamed up with Dontaie Riggsby and Adam Russell.


Family

In 2000, Stroup met Juli Terry, who gave birth to his two children Austin Stroup, Tyffani Stroup. Rocky and started his family on Lemorie Ct in Columbus, Ohio.


Career

After his marriage, Stroup tried working legitimate careers. He worked at a speedway and a check cashers, but he was always drawn back to a life of crime. Stroup's criminal career with the Web St. boys began with pushing drugs from out of the north side Columbus, Ohio and near by areas. Stroup became successful enough at this lifestyle to move his self to a nicer apartment in Gahanna, Ohio. On July 1, 2005, Stroup and co-gang member William A Williamson (September 26, 1985 - Still living) were great friends from the beginning with much in common: They were both fierce, tough, street-wise, and clever. This friendship brought Stroup closer to the boss Markus Smith who ran the organization until Stroup took over. William A Williamson helped Stroup advertise his local street gang by posting folk gang signs, Starting fire's, making trouble with local police over the area.


Jail

On May 24, 2006, Judge Bender sentenced Stroup to 77 Days imprisonment without possibility of parole. Stroup would serve his sentence at the supermax facility at Franklin County, Ohio.

He was convicted of obstruction of justice, theft, 2 counts of prohibit/pri. invest, 2 counts of falsification, illegal gambling and tax evasion
