Rock or dirt skiing is not your typical sport. Most people rather ski on snow, but when the hot summer months roll around and you do not have the money to travel to the other side of the equator you can still strap on a set of skis and point them down hill and hope you do not get to banged up. It's best to have an old pair of skis because the bottoms get ripped up by the rocks and dirt as you ski over the rough surface. thumb History The start of rock skiing is unknown; it probably started back in the time of the cave men. More recent record shows that Allen C. Freeman started rock skiing in 2002 just above Cedar Hills, Utah. He has since rock skied in many other areas of Utah. Freeman has not missed a month of skiing since November 2002. Rock skiing is a way for him to ski the months that there is no snow.
