Robin Coackley

Robin Coackley (born 4th April 1984, North Wales) is a Welsh Rugby Union footballer who plays at fullback for Henley Hawks in National 2 South.
Born in St Asaph, Coackley attended Rydal School from 1992-2000 where he represented the U11 team through to the 1st VX. During this time, he also represented North Wales U16 group.
Following his subsequent move to France, he played for Colomiers Rugby U19 in the top level of french youth rugby and then L'Isle Jourdain 1st XV in Federal 3. During 2002 he was selected to play for the Welsh Exiles against the Irish Exiles at Old Deer Park.
After moving back to the UK to attend the University of Wales, Newport, Coackley combined his Geographical Science + Modern languages degree while playing rugby for Newport, Pontypool and most recently Caerphilly RFC.
After representing Wales Universities Rugby, he played rugby for Amoskeag RFC in Manchester, New Hampshire and helped take the team to the nationl playoffs (narrowly losing to New York).
Coackley is now on the books at Henley Hawks after a brief stint with Bridgwater & Albion RFC.
OTHER INTERESTS:
Coackley was a "all rounder" at school and before rugby union became a serious interest, he won numerous British titles in Alpine Skiing. In From 1994-1997 he was ranked in the top 10 junior skiers in Great Britain and in the top 80 (overall, Inc Senior). He also represented his county (North Wales) in other sports such as athletics, tennis, swimming, and may well have been successful at either had they been continued.
