Rob Rasner (born Robert Lyon Rasner; February 12, 1978) is an American actor, magician and comedian. Known for funny close-up magic. He has appeared on American television shows including "3rd Rock From the Sun" and "." He is an avid Dodgers fan and spends his spare time playing soccer and music. As of 2011 Rasner lives in Studio City, California. Early years and personal life Rob Rasner was born and raised in Riverside, California. His mother Mary is asst to the principal at the Riverside School district. His stepmother Valerie is an optometrist. His younger brother, Richard, is a photographer. He has a newly adopted three-year old sister, Danielle. He has two cats Razzie and Casey. Rasner graduated from Riverside Poly High School and attended Riverside Community College both in Riverside, California. Like the rest of his family, Rasner studied music both at college and with the Riverside Pops. After traveling the world with the Velvet Knights Drum and Bugle Corps, a chance encounter with the film Calendar Girl starring Jason Priestley and shooting in his hometown, inspired him to pursue that first love. He then moved to Los Angeles. Acting career Rasner spent a year studying acting and not long after completing his class work landed his first role as a delivery boy in a Pizza Hut commercial. He has appeared in television shows including "The Office", "3rd Rock From The Sun", "Saved by the Bell: The New Class", "Full House", and "Hangtime.” He also appeared in the film "The Cable Guy" with Jim Carrey. His other films included "Mercy Streets" and "Lay It Down." Rasner has appeared in television commercials including United Airlines, national campaigns for 7 Up, AM/PM, Washington Mutual, ABC, and Burger King. Rasner began studying magic at Los Angeles Valley College under master magician Ed Schiff. Then he was taken under the wing of Lou Serrano. Rasner also studied in Las Vegas Mystery School with Jeff McBride and Eugene Buger. He has headlined with Lou Serrano and Nathan Gibson plus Justin Kredible. He travels the United States with his "Rob Rasner Magic Show," performing on the college circuit and has headlined in popular venues in Europe and Asia. He was one of the "" and writers of the popular MTV show “Room 401,” a surrealistic hidden camera show, executive produced by Ashton Kutcher. In addition to being a magic consultant, Rasner played in select roles such as in episode 2 "" as a cabbie that helps abandon his passengers in a bad neighborhood. Plus in episode 5, he came up with a concept for one of the show's most popular sketches called "" set in a bowling alley where something interesting is returned from the bowling ball dispenser, causing the patrons to bolt for the door. Rasner also appeared on "Gene Simmons: Family Jewels" on A&E. He was hired by Tracy Tweed, sister of Shannon Tweed, to perform magic at Gene's 60th birthday party. He gave a command performance for the princess of Saudi Arabia, and spent two months headlining at Beijing’s hugely popular The Goose & Duck Comedy Magic Club. His live performance, "The Rob Rasner Comedy and Magic Show" is a high-energy act that includes audience participation with a new spin on classic sleight of hand. Philanthropy Rasner is a former member of the Hollywood Hoopsters, a celebrity basketball team. The team travels around the country to various schools, raising funds for their programs. He regularly appears in Stars for Charity events all over the country. He had a severe knife wound across his index and middle finger requiring stitches, but there was little to no scarring.
