Rimon Law P.C.

Rimon P.C. is a law firm in the United States, Israel, Europe, and China that specializes in corporate law, litigation, financial services, private client services, life sciences, intellectual property, and tax law. The firm has 20 locations across the U.S., Israel, Europe, and China. Rimon is an "alternative" law firm, combining cloud computing, efficient office space, and a distributed workforce.
History
Rimon was founded in 2008 in San Francisco, CA. Its founding partners, Michael Moradzadeh and Yaacov Silberman, met in 2004 while working as corporate attorneys at white shoe firm Ropes & Gray. Envisioning a new firm structure with more technology, and less bureaucracy and hierarchy, Moradzadeh and Silberman left the firm to develop Rimon. Through connections in Israel, the firm was able to begin its life with an international presence.
Location
Rimon has 20 locations across the United States, Israel, Europe, and China including San Francisco, Chicago, Palo Alto, San Diego, Orange County, New York City, Boston, Los Angeles, Orlando, New Jersey, Seattle, Miami, Tel Aviv, Lake Tahoe, Minneapolis, Washington D.C., Northern Virginia, Rome, Kansas City, and their newest office Shenzhen.
Rimon also operates a global alliance in Australia, Canada, Europe, and Latin America/Caribbean. The European Global Alliance members are located in Belgium, France, Greece, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom. The Latin America/Caribbean Global Alliance members are located in Brazil, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, and Nicaragua.
Structure and compensation model
Rimon operates using a spherical model, as opposed to the "pyramid model" of the traditional law firm or the flat model of most virtual firms. They turned the 'traditional' law firm model upside down and created a firm centered around having happy legal professionals working collaboratively with clients and colleagues in ways that make sense and that attorneys can choose and implement. The firm has roughly a 4-1 ratio partners to associates and 35 support staff. Rimon handles a wide range of matters that may require high-level expertise but involve only one or a few seasoned lawyers.
Rimon uses an unconventional compensation structure whereby attorneys set their own billing rate with each client and get paid for the work they do.
Reputation and recognition
Rimon and its attorneys are highly ranked by legal rating services including the Financial Times' Most Innovative Law Firms, which honored them as "cloud-centered social media pioneers." Several Rimon lawyers have been recognized in Best Lawyers in the United States and Israel consistently since 2008, including 2013's Lawyer of the Year in Patent Litigation for New York City. Rimon was recognized in U.S. News & World Report's "Best Law Firms" for 2015. Other honors awarded to Rimon and its lawyers include the Super Lawyers List, Who's Who Legal, Martindale-Hubbel by LexisNexis AV Preeminent, and IAM Patent 1000, and Chambers & Partners. Rimon's founding partners have spoken on their innovative firm model at both Harvard and Stanford Law Schools.
Rimon has been recognized twice by Financial Times Innovative Lawyers Report. In 2012 the firm was recognized for its innovative spherical business model. In 2014, the firm was commended for its innovations in collaboration. They have also been recognized as a top Cryptocurrency Law Firm.
In 2012, Rimon's founders Michael Moradzadeh and Yaacov Silberman were recognized by American Bar Association Journal's Legal Rebels for the structure of the firm, which includes no billable-hour requirements and utilizes video conferencing and an internal social cnetworking site.
Rimon is a certified B Corporation for its social and environmental efforts. The firm purchases carbon offsets to mitigate its carbon footprint.
