"Rihi Ponga" (born 18 October 1955) in Raetihi is a singer-songwriter based in Whanganui, New Zealand. Rihi Ponga has contributed to Maori music for almost three decades. Through life experiences, her soulful compositions have a spiritual depth, using the medium of music to heal.Known best for her role in Whanganui based collaborative Te Reo o nga manu. Career Rihi Ponga has featured on various albums."He Pai Noa" is her debut single which premised in 2011. She also depleted 1,000 copies in her first two weeks. Ponga has also released a few try-out's including, "Slow Me Down Lord", "To Shine Brightly" and an enduring favorite "Children of The River" Personal life Ponga has been living in Whanganui for the past generation. After the passing of her partner Paiki Ponga, Rihi has been committing her essence to and Music. She also has four daughters, Nganehu, Pikiora, Ngapera and Tee Aroha also she has an only-boy Fabian.
