Richie Branson

Richie Branson , born Marcus Brown II, is an american music producer and hip-hop/pop artist from San Antonio, TX. His name is derived from the name of British millionaire Richard Branson. He is the co-founder of Red Prodigy productions along with his uncle, Jeremy "Fleetwood Slim" Brown. Before gaining notoriety as an artist, Richie pursued a career as a music producer. In 2009, he and his uncle formed a partnership as music producers and began producing professionally for major label artists. Red Prodigy, as their partnership was called, enjoyed moderate success after one of their artists, "Bone", landed a record deal with Def Jam recordings after L.A. Reid personally heard two songs each composed and produced by Richie and Fleetwood. One of the songs the duo composed, "Homegurl", eventually landed on Billboard's top 100 Hip-Hop/R&B charts. After continuing to produce for hip-hop artists in the industry, Richie eventually switched focus and began to pursue a career as an artist. In July 2011, Richie Branson signed a record deal under a partnership between Tutone Entertainment, Jagore Music Group, and RED Distribution, a division owned by Sony Music Entertainment.
