Reyn Ouwehand

Reyn Ouwehand (born August 2, 1973) is a composer of music and former member of Maniacs of Noise (along with Jeroen Tel), composing for the Commodore 64 sound chip, the SID soundchip. His commercial works include Flimbo's Quest and Last Ninja 3.
Biography
Reyn was born in Leiderdorp and grew up in Katwijk aan Zee, Netherlands, the youngest of three children. He received his musical education at Hogeschool voor de Kunsten (Rotterdams Conservatorium), where he majored in piano and applied electronics (studio engineering and synthesizer programming). In 1995, he left the conservatory in his final year before graduation to start his own record label, Prevue Productions (catalogue prefix 'PP'). He built his own studio, located at Katwijk aan Zee, and started working as a producer, studio musician and composer.
In 1988, at the age of 15, Reyn's musical career started with an assignment from London - System 3 asked him to compose for their computer games on the Commodore 64 and Amiga. Nowadays Reyn is an established producer, who worked with national artists Kane (Sony/BMG, platinum album “Fearless” in 2005), Coparck (V2), El Pino & the Volunteers (Excelsior Recordings) and Sita (Sony/BMG). Since he is a versatile multi-instrumentalist (keyboards, bass guitar, guitar, drums) and skilled arranger and programmer, artists outside of the Netherlands love to work with him as well. From ICP Studios in Brussel he works for French, Belgian and Swiss artists like Benjamin Biolay (EMI), Stephan Eicher (Barclay/Universal), Souad Massi (Universal), Mayane Delem (EMI) and Isabelle Boulay (V2). As a composer, Reyn loves to work on movie soundtracks. A big success (platinum sales) Reyn had with the children’s book Woezel & Pip, for which he has composed all music. Reyn is appreciated for his personal style, and the warmth of the compositions and arrangements. In 2006 he had his first assignments from USA: a remix for Finnish rock band HIM (Warner Bros) and award-winning Hawaiian vocal group NaLeo. He often performs C64 remixes live at demoparties, such as Breakpoint. He usually doesn't have a band, but plays all the instruments himself one by one into looper. He also has his own radio show Sunday Service on SLAY Radio, where he plays tunes based on requests (both tune and style)
In 2006, Reyn bought an old church (built in 1650) located in Wijdenes, Netherlands, about 35 kilometres north of Amsterdam. The massive renovation to convert the church into a fully equipped recording studio, simply known as "The Church", was finally completed in 2011. The renovation was previously delayed several times due to the church being considered as a state monument (Rijksmonument) and any major modifications to it without permission were forbidden by the Dutch government.
