Revolutions of 2009

Major world changes are taking place in the year 2009 as the fabric of the global economy unravels.
Events include the 2009 G-20 London summit, the 2008-2009 Thai political crisis, unrest in Russia and the Tea Party protests.
A worldwide decline in the faith in government and the uncertainty of the economy has changed the order of the world. Fears of new world order and totalitarianism have emerged as governments have taken control of banks and Internet censorship is on the rise.
Background (1989-2008)
With the end of the Cold War in the early 1990s, the final obstacle to globalization was removed. By the late 2000s, the worlds' economy became a global, inter-dependent system, making it more fragile.
For various reasons, in December 2007, a worldwide financial crisis began. This caused civil unrest in many countries around the world and controversy over governments' solutions to the problem.

*December 2008 - 2008 Greek riots.
*January - protests and riots throughout Europe.
*February to present - Tea party protests.
*April - London G20 summit with a proclamation of reduced United States influence.
*April - Governor of Texas suggests possibility of state secession.
