Production
In June 2010, Brian Iannone announced that he was going to be shooting a documentary-style short film on Reunion Island. Filming was going to take place from June 22 to July 11, 2010. Brian wanted to test the possibility of using video-capable DSLR cameras (HDSLRs on documentary projects, so he used a Canon EOS 7D. 93% of the video was shot with a Canon 24-70mm f/2.8L lens while the rest was done with a Canon 75-300mm f/4-5.6 II telephoto lens.<ref name="vimeo" />
Editing and post-production began in December 2010 and took less than two weeks to complete. The final version was completed on December 12. Because Brian intends to use this short film to attract attention for a full-length documentary on Reunion Island planned for production in 2012, Reunion Island: An Overview is being distributed for free.
Copies of the film will also be distributed free of charge on DVD and Blu-ray. The planned release date for these discs is February 2011.
