Resident Evil: Retribution

Resident Evil: Retribution is an upcoming science-fiction horror film and the fifth installment in the Resident Evil live-action film series, based on the popular video game franchise of the same name, and will be produced by Capcom. It is to be produced by Paul W.S. Anderson, whom may possibly be directing again also. The film is scheduled for release worldwide on September 14, 2012.

Jovovich told New York Magazine that Anderson had started work on a sequel. She explained, "We've been talking to a lot of fans on Twitter and stuff, so it's probably going to be one of the first movies where we really talk to fans to see what they want, and what characters they want to see. It's going to be a more interactive process.". Resident Evil 5 is slated to go into production towards October 2011. Paul W.S Anderson is going to head production, with filming ending circa June 2012. The title was potentially revealed as Retribution by Jovovich on her twitter account, but she said that she had to ask Anderson, making the title only an assumption, where she also said director Anderson is watching footage of skilled players of the video games to gain inspiration. Other tweets made by the actress hint towards the possibility of Hunters, enemies from the original video game series.
