Republic Of Chomania

The Republic of Chomania, commonly referred to as Chomania, is a developing micronation in North America. Chomania was founded on September 13, 2008, and declared itself a sovereign nation on January 19, 2013. While the land divisions of Chomania are currently under dispute, the surrounding area's residents regard the self-proclaimed nation with auspiciousness.
Governmental Status
The governing officials of Chomania consider the nation to be a democratic republic, but have dismissed the idea of changing the micronation's name to the Democratic Republic of Chomania, partly due to the social stigma associated with similarly named nations, like DR Congo. The Chomanian people support democracy and a free trade economy. Chomania is considered to be a capitalist government with regards to its economic policies.

Population
Currently, the population of Chomania is approximately 15 people, and the people of Chomania are currently seeking citizenship status.
Culture
Chomania has a mixed culture, as its residents originate from scattered regions across the United States and Mexico. The citizens of Chomania with the highest social-political status are known as the Chomans.
