Remote bookkeeping

Remote Bookkeeping refers to the practice where the bookkeeping is done off site or "remotely". This means that the bookkeeper may have access to the computer of the client whose books are to be kept, and he completes the bookkeeping process on the system of the client online. In other cases the client may upload his business transactions onto a server or workspace where from where the bookkeeper will process the transactions and "keep the books".
Remote Bookkeeping is also used for outsourced bookkeeping as usually the bookkeeper may not be in the same locality/city/country as the client who is outsourcing his bookkeeping.
