Refik Zamanalioglu is an Azerbaijani violinist. Life Zamanalioglu was born in the city of Baku which is the capital and subsequent largest city in the country of Azerbaijan. He showcased proficiency for the violin from an early age and wanted to become a violinist from this early age. After completing primary school and the rest of his general education, he chose to pursue a future career in music and music theory. He decided to attend Baku Music College and completed his basic college education in 1972. In 1977, he was accepted into the Hakibeyov Baku Academy of Music, otherwise known as the Azerbaijan State Conservatoire, which is one of the most prestigious and renowned music schools in the country. Once he entered college, Refik Zamanalioglu chose to continue his career in music and to further his education in music so he chose to study music and musical theory in his undergraduate years. Eventually, he ended graduating from the conservatory in the Department of Violin, Faculty of String Instruments. Immediately following his graduation, Zamanalioglu started to work in the Azerbaijan State Chamber Orchestra as a violinist. He also got work as a part-time faculty member of Azerbaijan State Conservatory in the same year. Afterwards, Zamanalioglu began to pursue a doctorate at the same university in 1982. In 1985, he completed his Ph.D. and moved to Turkey to further his musical career. In 1993, he got a job as a lecturer and faculty member at Bilkent University of Music and Performing Arts, one of the most prestigious musical schools in Turkey. He was also accepted as a core member of the Bilkent Symphony Orchestra, arguably the most prestigious and talented orchestra in Turkey, as a first chair violinist. He currently resides in Turkey and is working there today.
