Red Sea Station is an American pop band from New York, New York who have combined Indie Pop/Indie Rock with the Shoegazing movement of the late 1980s. The group was formed in 2006 and consists of Kevin McGoldrick (vocals, guitar, programming, keyboards), and Jeff Grey (guitar, vocals) with contributions by Zach Eichenhorn (drums), and Justin Potts (drums). They released their self-titled debut album, Red Sea Station, in 2008.

History
The band was formed in 2006 by Kevin McGoldrick and Jeff Grey in San Diego, California. McGoldrick was a singer/songwriter originally from Montreal, Canada and Grey, a singer/songwriter from Detroit, Michigan. Both had pursued various solo projects prior to forming Red Sea Station.

In July of 2006 Grey was struck by a tree and killed during a severe thunderstorm in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Left with an unfinished project, McGoldrick moved to Cairo, Egypt and nearly abandoned the project. With the help of Zach Eichenhorn (Adam's Castle, Gold & Gunmetal) and Portland-based songwriter Justin Potts the project was salvaged.

Their song "The Streets are Whispering" was used in the Columbus Zoo Commercial, "I'm Jack Hanna."
