Recruitment 2.0 is a term used to define advances in recruitment that were made possible as a result of Web 2.0. The underlying concepts of Web 2.0, information sharing and collaboration between users, are also the driving forces of Recruitment 2.0.
Applications include: * The use of Really Simple Syndication (RSS) to list job offers< * Querying search engines to find job listings * Posting job requirements on a company website or blog * Companies researching potential employees on search engines and social networking sites such as Facebook, and vice-versa * Recruitment management systems and applicant tracking systems * Talent banking * Recruitment process outsourcing (RPO)
These activities all include a large part of their activity, if not all, taking place online. Many of these activities have replaced their manual predecessors wholesale.
