This piece of silverware was presented to Celtic F.C by Real Madrid to mark the meeting between the two clubs in the quarter final of the European Cup in 1979. It consists of a silver cabin with a cross on one end of the roof monted on four silver legs on a marble base. Celtic outplayed the Spaniards in the first leg at Celtic Park and gained a two goal cushion going into the second leg of the tie at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium with goals from George McCluskey and Johnny Doyle. Real Madrid won the second game and progressed to the semi final with a 3-0 win on the night. The cabin remains one of the most magnificent and unique items in the Parkhead trophy room.
