Real Insurance

Real Insurance is an Australian insurance provider and a part of the Hollard Australia Group. Real Insurance was launched in Australia 2005 as a direct insurance provider.
History
Hollard was formed in South Africa in 1980 to underwrite self-insurance programs for large corporate clients and banks.
According to its website, Hollard Insurance Company Pty Ltd opened in Australia in 1999 and has been authorised by the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) since 2000. The company also holds an Australian Financial Services Licence issued by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission.
Hollard launched its direct insurance brand. Real Insurance, in 2005. The company now has over 200,000 policy holders in Australia.
Business Structure
Real Insurance is a part of the Hollard Group, which has businesses in Australia, throughout Africa, in the United States, the United Kingdom and South East Asia. Real is the retail business of the Hollard Australia Group: its other business entities are Hollard Financial Services and Hollard Insurance Company.
Hollard Group currently has more than 6.5 million policies available around the world, and employs over 1,600 staff. Globally, the Hollard Group holds assets exceeding AUD $1.7 billion.
