RationalPlan

RationalPlan is a project management software family developed by Stand By Soft, a software company established in 1997. The software is Java-based so it could constitute an alternative to Microsoft Project on Windows, Mac OS X and Linux systems.
Initially launched for the management of separate projects, in October 19, 2007 emerged a new version that allowed project portfolio management as well as sharing resources across different projects, called RationalPlan Multi Project, the old product being renamed as RationalPlan Single Project.
A few months later, in March 03, 2008 a new piece of software - RationalPlan Project Viewer - joined the other two. The latter is freeware and, since it can also open .mpp, .xml (Microsoft Project format) and .mpx files, it can be used as a viewer for Microsoft Project files.
