Ratifiers for Democracy

Ratifiers for Democracy is a political movement.
A proposed harmonization and balance between direct democracy and representative democracy, to get the best out of both. This set of political reforms is adaptable to many systems, depending upon the form of government that exists or that could be instituted.
Thus, one model looks at the USA, federally and by state, while other proposals relate to parliamentary systems such as the UK and Australia. Singapore also is a focus of attention. In all situations, the approach is to be non-prescriptive but both pragmatic and truly reforming.
Significance of organization
The Ratifiers gained particular significance through inclusion in the Salzburg Seminar on "Sustaining Democracy in the Modern World" held in Salzburg, Austria in 2001. An example is the important discussion of democracy in Russia (15 June 2005).
