Random DJs

The Random DJs is a group of DJs that play what ever, when ever performing at small to massive venues. Commonly feature yearly at Convention / Expo shows and or Weekly night clubs found in Southern California. The group of DJs are from all over California, each with their own style and play preference that they bring to every show. Random DJs are unquestionably the revolution in convention type dance party, always mixing live and never letting the crowd or fans down.
Background Check
Formed as a DJ crew in the summer of 2005 originally as Convention DJs, the idea brought on to play whatever type of music at time. The concept was a bit lackluster with out some sort of structure for a crowd that almost danced to everything, but the idea couldn't be passed on to the next crowd. Later adding DJ. Amaya (Jason Parrish) after an amazing debut at a live Expo show, a direction for the group was set in style. The group's arsenal expanded greatly, crossing genres like Japanese Pop and Hip-Hop with Electro and House music all over the place. This strategy in turn was for the sole purpose to bring crowds together to dance to literally everything they heard no matter the underbelly beat they heard. With the group's success in and out of the Clubs and or Convention, they're now being request and featured at some of the major yearly shows.
Heroes & Villains
Random DJs some times are tied into not only just performing but also running their own gigs. From what has been noticed that as the group got bigger, more responsibilities came along with the numbers game. DJ. JINREI (Andre Smith) is the business man in the group, others would say a warlord or lighthearted jerk to be blunt. Thus making him the Villain of the group for his strict yet focused bad attitude towards each an every show with the mind set for business before play. Characters in the group like DJ. Helsing, DJ. Sandman and DJ. Amaya have been noticed to be the happy go lucky guys out of the bunch. Funk Master Miko and DJ. Reign are also noted to be business oriented as well as DJ. JINREI with variable resources.
The battle of titans and egos lead to a miss match of Tw33k vs JINREI in 2005 which would spawn an almost 2 year feud with the two DJs. After DJ. Amaya's 2007 debut and being crowned "The Rookie of the Year" and "MVP" right after, convention regulars steered up a DJ bout between DJ. Amaya against DJ. JINREI. DJ. JINREI would later switch gears and fall into a personal which he was dubbed Villain in, with a more sinister style of play and a Mask brought oh a new DJ. JINREI. Net trouble makers are still waiting for the all out DJ bout to see who is King of the mountain.
The Name?
A crew member and convention crew / staffer along with DJ. Sandman were said to be the founders of the name based on one of DJ. Sandman's favorite J-Bands, "Random Ninjas" as they are well known as. At this point at time the original members of the group were Funk Master Miko, DJ. Sandman and DJ. Jinrei along with crew member roadie Taskmaster. DJ. JINREI at first did not want the name due to the extreme similarities between the two groups. The initials "RDDJs" was later developed as well as the original logo for the group.
==T-REX!!!==
As the story goes behind the chant and raves of "T-REX" is as random as the group.
MC. Raven was doing his usual speech to the masses when randomly you'd hear someone from the stage or backstage area yell "T-REX!!!" out loud. MC. Raven stopped in his sentenced for a brief second to glance over to see what that sound was all about. As he got knee deep back into his announcements, DJ. JINREI screams "T-REX!!!" again only this time getting the crowd's attention. As the music started up and MC. Raven was coming to the end of his announcements, multiple Rex chants started up in the crowd as the crowd was getting antsy to dance the night away. Later that same night DJ. JINREI got on the microphone to get the crowd hyped up during a popular track when his was quoted, "I went to yell out like whats up Anime -Expo and I said T-Rex instead by accident and the crowd started yelling it back an forth ya know."
Members
DJ. Amaya
(real name Jason Parrish) started out as a musician/producer, as part of the electronic duo 'The Euroboyz'. As a member of 'The Euroboyz', Dj Amaya learned the art of making electronic music, while utilizing his years of experience playing in live rock bands. Over the years he continued to grow in his production skills, and started to make remix versions of the group.
During the year 2001, DJ Amaya picked up a love of live DJing with vinyl, after being inspired by the live recorded sets of Paul Oakenfold. During the following years as his skills as a DJ were being refined, his music became increasingly more, and more influenced by the sound of trance music. Soon DJ Amaya's sets were notoriously known for being huge, epic, and melodic, having a style & sound unique to him. By taking influence from Oakenfold, Paul Van Dyk, Tiesto, and Sasha, and spinning sets that were clearly influenced, but always unique to Amaya.
DJ Amaya played many parties and raves in the Pacific northwest scene, such as the 'Where life begins' parties by 'FLAIR'.
In the year 2003, DJ Amaya picked up a copy of the remix vinyl of "Everything but the girl" song "Tempermental", which had a acapella remix on it. Using this DJ Amaya produced his first official white label remix. This remix was the first "Epic' remix by him. Although most of the original remixes did not contain the DJ Amaya name, just that it was a "2003 Epic mix".
After seeing the possibilities in doing these remixes, Amaya sought out more acapellas, and continued to make more remixes that became hard to find gems on the internet peer to peer download scene.
Originally the DJ AMAYA name was intended as a remix moniker, but stuck as his DJ Name , and eventually was used as a alias for his purely techno/trance solo productions. DJ AMAYA over the years produced many trance/techno instrumentals over the course of his career, while gaining a strong internet Convention and fan base on sites such as mp3.com.au, and download.com.
Soon after discovering a love of Japanese anime, he stumbled across a music video internet station provided by the Avex Entertainment Avex Network. On this video stream, Amaya quickly fell in love with the sounds of Ayumi Hamasaki, Do As Infinity, and Ruppina. And after seeing the commercials for the Ayu-TRANCE series of CD's Amaya started listening to Ayumi Hamasaki Remixes. And eventually this led to a new found addiction to J-pop music in general. Thus, leading to the inevitable white label remixes of Ayumi Hamasaki and others.
It wasn't long before DJ. Amaya tracks became some of the best on the internet download scene. His originals and remixes began appearing on many DJ play lists.
Today DJ. Amaya brings a tech-trance sound which can compete with top acts of today, and will be an artist to watch in the coming years. And with the start of his own podcast "Hitsuzen Radio" he's bringing his sound the world!
DJ. Jinrei
(born Bristol, England) originally emerged as a convention coordinator in Lancaster, California for AniMagic 1999 under the name Black Mage, which was believed to be his stage name at the time. Jinrei had a somewhat difficult childhood, being born to tough love Law Enforcement mother and father meant that he was raised by an iron fist. This is something which affected him greatly and lead to him making a vow to entertain and help those who needed it.
His dreams had always been to become a entertainer but made his first appearances in the limelight in May 2004 as an Assistant Live Programing Director at The Can Club for their Friday night lineup, Club Friction. He also continued his career as Coordinator for several years, landing positions in other clubs and convention shows such as Club Bang! and AX. It was at the end of 2004 he began his hard training to become a serious DJ, Dancer and to host his own Club events and, in 2005, he finally made his solo debut at "Trance Thursdays" in Garden Grove, California. Reasonably successful with the club scene gaining popularity with is Trancey Korean Pop music selections.
He was determined to become more successful and appeal to a wider Audience so he resorted to many different genres of music. However, this backfired as he became better known for his gimmicks and his seriousness to the production of the event than for her music. His gigs slumped and he was asked to stick to Hip-Hop music only which narrowed his crowd, which made him increasingly uncomfortable. Around this time he went back to focusing on his art work in the field of graphic design doing free lance flyer work for other club promotions.
Jinrei focus for music would be revised by a partner ship with Random DJs and especially DJ. Amaya, both looking for new ways each any every show to bring something to the crowd they've never seen and never heard. It was in 2006 Jinrei tried to bring crowds that were only interested in Hip-Hop and crowds only interested in Dance music and Trance together. A crusade was started to mash up the styles live, which would bring him back in site of becoming more a Entertainer over being a DJ.
