Raja Amani Singh was the king of the Lagsama region. Lagsama region is the place where Thakurela jats are inhabitated and were the rulers of this place.Thakurela is the branch of Kakran clan.Lagsama region primarily comprises Gonda, Khair, Tappal and Jattari towns of Aligarh district. Raja Amani Singh was also from Thakurela gotra of jats.
There was an incident which took place in the revolt of 1857 in which Raja Amani Singh repelled and defeated the contingents of Scindias of Gwalior. The troops of Gwalior attacked under the leadership of Major Burtlon. There is a statue of Raja Amani Singh near Iglas.. He also defeated the Chauhan rajputs in a war who came to capture this region. He was from the village Gahlau of Lagsama region.
