Raj Kartik Patel

Born in South Plainfield, New Jersey, Raj Kartik Patel moved to Indiana in 2000 with his family. After loosing a class election for the junior class, Raj Patel became the inaugural president of the Brownsburg High School CHAIN Link Student Government. Patel help reform the student government to CHAIN Link and wrote the new Constitution of Brownsburg High School establishing the CHAIN Link Student Government.
CHAIN Link
After being formed, Patel led a group of students of 220 students, which is about 10% of the student body at Brownsburg High School. The Patel Administration is mainly known for unifying the class officers and the student body officers with class representatives. In addition, during the Patel Administration the Brownsburg Vision program was introduced to award academic excellence and effort to students, and the first annual Shop with a Bulldog charity event was started. Many of the student leaders of CHAIN Link, including Patel and his successor, Jeffery Wise, have traveled around the country to spread their fundamentals of student government. The most recent visit was to Kennesaw Mountain High School's Mane Link Student Government. Mane Link is the sister government of CHAIN Link. Mane Link and CHAIN Link have had a school bound for over 2 years. Local high schools, such as Avon High School, will be reforming and restructuring their student government after CHAIN Link starting in the 2010-2011 school year. CHAIN Link has gotten regional, state, and international recognition for getting their agenda and policies accomplished.
Young Democrats
Patel is also known for co-finding the Indiana High School Democrats High School Caucus under the Indiana Young Democrats and Young Democrats of America and Young Democrats of America High School Caucus. He currently serves as the vice-chair. Additionally, Patel is known for being an active naitonalcommittee member and deputy regional director of the Great Lakes Region in the national executive board of the high school democrats.
