Raipur metropolitan area

The Raipur metropolitan area or Raipur urban agglomeration is a metropolitan area centered around the city of Raipur, in Raipur district, Chhattisgarh, India. With a population of more than 2 million within an area of 1000 km , it is the largest and most populous metropolitan area in Chhattisgarh.
The four urban cities of Raipur, Naya Raipur, Bhilai and Durg in West central of Chhattisgarh together creates Raipur-Bhilai-Durg Tri City Metro area also known as Greater Raipur. The three cities are served by the Raipur-Bhilai-Durg Expressway and are connected by AH46 and Mumbai-Howrah Rail line. Together they form industrial corridor for multiple steel and cement industries. The three cities are in close geographic proximity (less than 40 km / 25 miles).
