Raffles Resort Canouan Island

Raffles Resort Canouan Island is located on Canouan Island in the heart of The Grenadines in the south-eastern Caribbean. The resort is set on 300 acres of a 1200-acre private estate featuring three secluded, white sand beaches, all surrounded by one of the world's largest coral reefs.

The hotel is built on one of the thirty islands that formerly belonged to St. Vincent. It is a tiny, arid island measuring just 3.5 miles by 1.25 miles. In 1979, the island became independent with a secure democratic government based on the British system. In 2004 Raffles Hotels and Resorts began managing the Canouan Island Resort (owned by Canouan Resorts Development Limited) which occupies almost one third of the previously uninhabited island.

The resort was formerly owned by Canouan Resorts Development (CRD) Limited, who signed a 99-year lease agreement with the Government of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines for the construction and operation of an international residential resort and club on Canouan Island in 1990.

The focal point of the resort is a 12th Century Anglican Church that was shipped from England in the 19th century and reassembled> It nestles in the heart of the resort and has now become a popular site for weddings and vow renewal ceremonies.

Trump International Golf Club at Raffles Resort is one of the Caribbean’s world-class golf courses. The 18 hole par 72 championship course was designed by Jim Fazio and forms the centre piece of the Raffles Resort. The course has a 500 feet elevation change from the holes alongside the Atlantic Ocean to the signature back nine, with the summit of the round on the 13th hole.
The resort has 56 suites and rooms and offers guests the opportunity to participate in sports such as tennis, golf and water sports. The resort also has four signature Raffles restaurants and bars, a large freshwater swimming pool, Sugar Palms Kids Club and the RafflesAmrita spa.
