Rabbi samole

rabbi samole was a great knowlegable rabbi in the time of the mishnah. He wrote many jewish books and commentaries on the torah.it is told that when the romans took over the second holy temple (בית המקדש השני)they took rabbi samole's books and burnt them. Rabbi Samole has a descendant whom still lives this day in the city of Toronto. he is known to be 1 of the most learned men in toronto . the origianl rabbi samole had approximately 200 students worldwide. Once the romans burnt his books,they threw him in the fire too. that was the end of the rabbi samole era.The jewish legend goes like this:

In the time of the destruction of the second holy temple the romans killed every jew who would keep the mitzvos. Rabbi Samole went out and hid himself in a casket so that he could go to the roman emperor of the time. He got into the roman palace. He went up to the emperor and said the jewish prayer the shema. The roman guards threw him into the dungeon, and decided to kill him.

The romans made a fire on top of a mountain so all of jerusalem could see. The romans took rabbi samole's books, a torah, and rabbi samole, and they threw them all in the fire.
