The first version of QuickCart.com was created in 1986 as the very first Shopping Cart code ever written using the Cold Fusion development language on the Internet. The code was later licensed by such companies as Net Grocer, Toys R Us, Solgar Vitamins, and other large online stores. In 1999 the code was completely overhauled to take advantage of new technologies. It was licensed by Taylor & Francis Publishing to create an online store containing over thirty thousand book titles. The current system is fully hosted application written in Macromedia ColdFusion using Microsoft SQL Enterprise Server 2000. It is hosted on a Load Balanced Cluster and housed in Online Corporation of America’s data center in Pennsylvania, US who provides managed services on a redundant backbone. Bandwidth is provided by PDT and & AT&T which provide an Enterprise level of performance. It has taken over 3 years and untold man hours to design and build.
