PromptCloud is a data crawl, extraction, DaaS firm, based in Bangalore, India. The company was founded by Prashant Kumar, an Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur alumnus and former employee in the year 2009. Their web scraping service uses cloud computing solutions to provide data as a service through their platform. After working for 1 year at Yahoo! he left the job and started his own company in November 2009. from various sources (Data as a service) where only the required data is provided to the clients. Technology PromptCloud uses Apache Nutch, Hadoop Distributed Filesystem and Apache Solr for building customised Web crawlers which are used for Data extraction from web pages.
