Pro-active Recordings

Pro-Active Recordings is an independent record label which has now acquired other labels such as Tent Records.
Michael Barnett (born Michael Anthony Barnett 15 July 1972) and partner Ashley Speight (born Ashley Lajuana Speight 16 October 1973) are the co-founders of the Pro-Active Recordings group, founded in 2005. Both returned to the UK in 1999 after 7 years studying music in Germany and Europe. The label has bought out smaller companies that were on the verge of bankruptcy, including Tent Records. It all started in 1987, when Michael Barnett began recording for the PRT recording label, which was sold and became Pro-Active Recordings in 2005. The label either releases or has a part in the distribution of the songs listed below. Some of the songs released by Michael Barnett have tended to be cover versions of songs by other artists. Their operating revenue as of November 2008 was £825,000.
Artists on the labels have included V, Mero, and friends Five Star and Bucks Fizz amongst others. The label also intends to recruit fresh new talent as well as remixing old tracks.
