advantanges of private schools over public schools
Based on records, private schools are concluded to be efficiently runned and monitored. They have also transparency flow of procedures as well as fully equipped with advanced equipments/resources that makes it easy for them to function their work more efficiently. The fact that they have that stance and clebilities, it than attract more experts which enable the entire staff of such school to perform more better than the state schools. Private school based their tracks of educational deliverance on their private basis mostly i.e. they don’t rely that much on government instructions/circular and policies. Their policies are more internalised and thus give their management more autonomy to opt for the better way to do their work as a private school, e.g. to adopt qualitative assessments as well as ways of promotions that are actually not similar with those state schools. examples
According to Mr Alex T. Ngola,(History teacher,De Duine secondary school, 2012), the good current example of this is actually the transferring policy; the practice which is currently in use in state schools in Namibia of which learners are transferred to another grade(not passed) to give the space to the junior which is seriously hampering the smooth learning process of Namibia as these transferred learners are not completely thoroughly well polished. This havoc activity exempted/not in use at private schools and by doing so their performance standard are always quiet remarkable, comparing to the state schools.
These schools attracted a lot of donors as they performs well and opportunity that are profitable on improving their standards worldwide, attract expert staffs as most of them pays well while others have the chance of grapping the best learners only as the competions of selecting /admitting of learners at such schools are extremely very high. In Namibia, these schools are such as Camisian high in Omusati and ST Paul high in Khomas etc. Teachers learned ratio at private schools also makes it easier to control and create a close conversation with learners.
Disadvantages of private schools
However, private schools are not all completely very successful.(http://www.blurtit.com/q102086.html) These were records that some of them use poor quality curriculum that does not really address current issues. There were also report that some schools that are privately runned, the managers are personal directives that sometimes comes with manipulations and other irrelevant instructions.
The fact that a lot of private schools are expensive not all the people will afford to pay for their children at these schools, therefore it disadvantages the poor families to take their children there to capture this flourishing cultivated skills and knowledge. This fact makes it difficult for them to enrol there and are than forced to go at the poor performing state schools. This trend is believed indirectly to widen the gap between rich and poor as only learners from best well of families get educated highly and get chances to go study overseas and at a productive high learning institutions/ or study more advance careers e.g. engineering, laws and medicines.
