Princess Nisreen El-Hashemite

HRH Princess Dr. Nisreen Bint El-Sharif Mohammed Bin Bin El-Sharif Hussein El-Hashemite’s origin combines history, religion, politics and education: she is a direct descendent of the Prophet of Islam, Mohammed (S), and the grandaughter of King Faisal I of Iraq.

Princess Nisreen was born in 1969 in the State of Kuwait where she received her primary education.

Following in the steps of her ancestors and vowing to preserve the traditions of her family; not only Princess Dr. Nisreen dedicated herself to serving mankind, but also is an internationally recognized researcher and awards achiever in the fields of arts, literature, humanitarian affairs, and science.

Princess Nisreen is qualified in science and medicine, with a Bachelor of Biomedical Sciences, Master of Science, Medical Doctorate and a PhD in Human Genetics, and works closely with renowned scientists and International Organizations on poplarization of Science and transfer of technology to Arab States and Third World Countries.

She is also an artist, using Arabic coffee to paint. Proceedings of her paintings are dedicated to support Health & Education Charitable Programs directed to Third World Countries in general and her home country Iraq in particular.

Princess Nisreen published many scientific articles and books, and received many International Awards.

On January 25, 1934 Ghazi married Princess Aliya bint Ali daughter of King Ali of Hejaz in Baghdad Iraq. They had only one son:[2] 
Faisal II, King of Iraq - born May 2, 1935 died July 14, 1958 
 
 
Faisal's first betrothed was Pincess Kiymet, a descendant of the last Mamluk dynasty of Iraq. This engagement was called off a year later. 
Faisal then asked for the hand of Princess Shahnaz Pahlavi, the sole child of the Iranian monarch Muhammad Reza Shah, but was turned down by Shahnaz. At the time of his death, King Faisal was engaged to be married to HH Princess Sabiha Fazila Khanum Sultan, the only daughter of HE Damat HH Prince Muhammad 'Ali Ibrahim Beyefendi of Egypt, by his wife, HIH Princess Zahra Khanzadi Sultan.
