Prince of Persia: Ghosts of the Past

NOTE: This article is about possible proof of Ubisoft's next Prince of Persia Game... Though the Game itself is not officially announced, it should be reconized that the evidence here can help any user reading this page more clearly make their own choise as to wether or not to believe the next Prince of Persia Game will be Ghosts of The Past. Just because it is not a confirmed title doesn't mean there can't be actual evidence and pictures relating to the topic giving it substance and weight for many fans of the Series... Even thought some material here may not seem completely true, as of this point in time none of it has been proven fake

Prince of Persia: Ghosts of The Past is a rumored upcoming game from Ubisoft and is described as being the first next generation game of the Prince of Persia Franchize. The game would most likely be available on PS3, PC, Wii, and XBox platforms, seeing as Ubisoft ahs always been multisystem with the PoP games they've made(exculding the DS card battle game BoPoP).

Conceptual Leak
Ubisoft has not confirmed the production of this game. but in March 2007 4 initial concept pictures of a 'next-gen' Prince of Persia were released after someone hacked a Ubisoft pc and took alot of pictures

among the pictures was: a new re-imagined PoP logo, An unfamiliar woman, and 2 cocept art drafts of a new Prince with a covering over his face and a mysterious Gauntlet on his left hand

Screen Shot Leak
4 screen shots were released by a blogger who claims they are from the upcoming next-Gen PoP game(believed to be called Ghosts of the Past)

neither shot shows any truly reconizable character(or even enough of a character to know that you wont reconize them) but what the shots do seem to show is that our new Prince will yet again have a companion... giving a huge callback to the first reinventing of the Series(Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time) and other classic games of this genre(such as ICO)

Rumored Story Information
It is believed that Ghosts of The Past will kick off the beginning of a new Trilogy. This makes sense knowing that The Sands of Time Trilogy came full circle with our tragic hero and ended with Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones... the concept art also helps this idea with a new 'different' looking prince and his Love interest

Rumored Character Information
The New Prince
ofcourse, Ubisoft hasn't even officially announced Ghosts of The Past, but it is believed that the Gauntlet the New Prince is sporting in the concept art will be the new focus of the rumored 3rd trilogy of the PoP franchise. with speculation of it being anything from another time manipulation device to a magical grapling hook that can recieve 'customizable upgrades'

The Female
The Female shown in a leaked concept art picture is believed to be The Prince's Love interest in this new series, Many think She will have the ability to 'shift' from human form to a Ghost Form. this had no proof but could exaplin why the character with the Prince in the 2 leaked screen shots dont appear to look at all like the concept art...

This is a personal note, but it seems to me this is an allusion to The Empress of Time(From The Sands of Time Trilogy) Specifically how she is able to resume a human-like form at the end of the trilogy, while still remaining a 'ghost' of the sands. she clearly retained certain bodily traits(it even seems she had on the clothes she was wearing before death) and it would be not out of the realm of possibility for her to re-emerge from the other worlds that she left PoP to find(possibly where the idea of the title Ghosts of The Past originated from)

Prince of Persia Movie Relations
Again, there is nothing officially announced by Ubisoft.

It is believed this new game Ghosts of The Past is slated to be released in Ubisoft's 2008-2009 financial year... with teh Disney made PoP movie comming out july 2009 it seems very possible that this Next-Gen PoP might be pushed into a co-release with the movie
