Prateek Kasliwal

Prateek Kasliwal (born 16 February 1979) is an Advocate primarily practicing before the Rajasthan High Court, Jaipur. He was enrolled with the Bar in the year 2003, and since then, he has been appearing before various forums including the Supreme Court of India, High Courts of 11 States and various Tribunals & Forums. Over a span of nearly two decades, he has been a part of several high-profile cases. He is the founder and proprietor of The Law Desk.
Personal life
Kasliwal was born in Jaipur to Dev Kumar Kasliwal and Santosh Kasliwal. While both his parents are doctors by profession, Kasliwal aspired to be a lawyer since school days. He attended the school at Maharaja Sawai Man Singh School, Jaipur after which he joined the University of Rajasthan to pursue his . Subsequently, Kasliwal obtained his law degree in 2003 from the same university. In 2009, Kasliwal married his wife Bhawana, & the couple has two children.
Professional life
After obtaining his degree in law in 2003, Kasliwal started to work under Advocate Paras Kuhad for honing his skills in litigation. In addition to LL.B, Kasliwal holds a in Corporate Law, Diploma in Taxation Laws, Master in Business Laws from NLSIU, Bangalore, DIPR from Geneva, Switzerland, and a PG Diploma in Media Laws from NALSAR, Hyderabad. Kasliwal is a life member of the Indian Council of Arbitration (ICA). He also holds the membership of the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA) and the International Bar Association (IBA).
Kasliwal handled India's first case on satellite phone (Andy Pag) which was covered by more than 500 news agencies round the globe. So far, he has been appointed as Amicus Curiae by the Rajasthan High Court in several matters such as the one concerning the Jail conditions/Jail manual, amongst others. Additionally, he has taken up several crucial matters concerning Public Interest pro bono, such as prolonged delay in completion of construction of Delhi-Jaipur highway, illegal collection of penalty on non-renewal of PUC certificate, proper implementation of the Right to Education Act, deployment of measures concerning water conservation in Rajasthan, harmful radiations emitted by Mobile towers, illegal construction of temples on roads, damage cause by inferior quality transformers, conditions of children in Juvenile homes etc. He is also the General Counsel to the Rajasthan Cricket Association.
In the year 2005, Kasliwal started the firm The Law Desk, a boutique law firm. Over the years, the firm has established a big name for itself and majorly specializes in the areas of Arbitration, Aviation, Sports Law, Insurance Law, Service matters, Consumer Protection and Intellectual Property disputes, among others.
