Prafulla D. Chawathe (Bongale) is an Emeritus Professor of Graph theory, University of Mumbai. She received her Ph.D. in Algebra from University of Mumbai in 1969; Ramaiyengar Sridharan from Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR) was her advisor.
