Positive nationalism is an idea and movement that promotes the interests of a particular nation (as in a group of people) with Love and harmony.
Nationalism is a phenomenon that can bare both positive and negative characteristics. It has great importance in creating a sense of personal identity as well as unity among people who share the same nationalist views. It can create a harmony between strangers on the foundation of equality of culture, language, religion and historical achievements. It creates sympathy among its members, while each one promotes the advancement of nationalistic interests. However, nationalism can have an inherent consequence of segregation between different nationalities. Negative symptoms of nationalism can create weak justifications for war, racism, regional conflict and ignorance towards other countries. It can promote ethnic behavior, and erode universal sympathy and compassion for those who are different from us.
