Politicism

Politicism- Discrimination or hatred against a person or group of people based on political beliefs or ideology.

Politicism can take place in a public forum or private conversation.

For Example:

In private:
You are unable to form your own opinions because you listen to Limbaugh or Franken. Therefore I will discount everything you say because you obviously hold a certain political ideology.

In a Public Forum:
At a job interview Ally is asked if she is a member of a conservation organization. When she says no, the interviewer abruptly ends the conversation, claiming all employees must share the beliefs of the employer.

While the constitution does not prohibit politicism it does protect freedom of speech under the 1st amendment and allows for its tolerance. Politicism is a double edged sword in the same way that religious discrimination exists. You have the right to express your opinion but it is still socially unacceptable to discriminate based on such beliefs.

With the rise of political events around the world and the divisiveness in which they have occurred the new term is catching on.
