Police Pistolcraft is the title of a book written by Michael E. Conti. It was published by Saber Press in 2007. In this book Conti describes the "Reality-Based New Paradigm of Police Firearms Training," a program he developed in 2000 while serving as the Director of the Massachusetts State Police Firearms Training Unit.[http://www.mass.gov/?pageIDeopssubtopic&L4&L0Home&L1Funding+%26+Training+Opportunities&L2=Law+Enforcement&L3=State+Police+Academy&sid=Eeops] This book was an anomaly of its type, as Conti didn't build the New Paradigm training program in the way that most police firearms training programs were built. He approached it from the perspective of "what do police officers actually do with their pistols when compelled by circumstances to use them in the real world?" Once that was established, he then built the program to better prepare them for those circumstances and events. The history of the development of the program is included in the text, as well as a detailed description of things the author saw while running thousands of police officers through the program.
